Summer in Jackson Hole means long sunny days, braiding rivers, and beautiful Teton backdrops. In other words, it's pure magic. Explore mountains, push your boundaries, and uncover something new about yourself — like that 5 am wake-up call isn’t so bad when it promises a sunrise you’ll never forget.
Hit the Trail
Hiking in Jackson Hole is a must-do with countless hiking trails, breathtaking mountain views and abundant wildlife viewing. Breathe in the fresh air while exploring the valley’s trails: take a leisurely stroll up Cache Creek, work for those tram waffles on the Wildflower Trail or take your breath away from the views in Grand Teton National Park.
Amp up the adrenaline and hit the trail on two wheels. Jackson Hole is a world-class biking destination, whether you opt for paved pathways that run between Jackson & Teton Village, and into the national park, climb through mountainside meadows or send it on the single track at the area’s ski resorts.
On the Water
Whether you crave the thrill of a lifetime in the whitewater or a leisurely float with wildlife viewing in the park, the Snake River provides for river enthusiasts. Enjoy the quiet serenity and unbelievable surroundings via kayak, canoe, or paddleboard on one of the many alpine lakes in Grand Teton. The renowned Snake River and its tributaries are known for world-class fly fishing. Hop aboard a boat or wade in the banks, you'll find trout ready to bite.
Meet the Locals
Home to the largest concentration of wildlife in the lower 48, we share our home with bears, wolves, moose, bison, elk and numerous other species. Roughly 22 million (yes, million) acres make up the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and you’ll be lucky to catch a glimpse of view these incredible species in their natural habitat during your visit.
Take the Scenic Route
It's not hard to "take the scenic route" around here. Even the most leisurely drive will provide truly awe-inspiring views. One of our favorites is the Kelly loop: this 16-mile loop starts & ends at the Gros Ventre Junction roundabout and offers one of the best bets for seeing a herd of bison in the valley and historic Mormon Row (where that iconic Moulton Barn photo is taken with the Tetons in the background).
Get Up High
Want stunning valley views without the hike? Take the Tram and climb 4,139 vertical feet from the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to the 10,450-foot summit of Rendezvous Mountain. From there, check out the trails at the summit or grab a waffle at Corbet's cabin. Hop on the Bridger Gondola in the late afternoon and enjoy Happy Hour at the Deck.
Stay in town and see Jackson from above. Grab a seat on the brand-new gondola to the top of Snow King Mountain and catch unbeatable views of the Tetons as you overlook the town. Make it a day and try your hands at a ropes course with the Treetop Adventure, zip through meadows on the Cowboy Coaster or fly down the steepest zip line in North America.
Keep it Western
Jackson Hole isn't known for being the "last of the Old West," for nothing. With real-life rodeos, horseback trail rides, chuck wagon dinners and plenty of western shops, you can indulge your inner cowboy while you take in the history of the region.
